Karlin "Maniii" Thomas was born in Quincy, Florida. Karlin began his career while he attended East Gadsden High School. His mother was the spark to his motivation in his decision making, mentioning the words,"tax free". He later found out that was all a BIG joke.
Karlin began his studies of becoming a Barber at Gadsden Technical Institute, at age 17 (2015). After graduation, He later on moved to Tallahassee, Florida to finish getting his certification at North Florida Cosmetology Institute, at age 19 (2017). In between the years, Karlin attended Tallahassee Community College seeking a Bachelor's Degree in Business. While becoming a scholar, Karlin came to a crossroad decision; continue college or pursue his career. Due to monetary circumstances, he chose to dropout of college, and start his journey of becoming a Barber/Entrepreneur.
Karlin started to get his feet wet in the industry by working at a local barbershop. His brother introduced him to the owner, and ever since, Karlin was apart of the team. He stayed working there for about 2 years (2017 - 2020), picking up all the tips and tricks to master his craft with the help of his fellow workmates.
In the beginning of 2020, right around the time of the pandemic, all non-essential workers were virtually out of a job. Karlin, along with his crew of co-workers, were not in the best of shape because people were told to stay inside by all cost. Being that the case, Karlin had pitched an idea to the owner, but to no avail. Karlin packed his things, left the barbershop, and started to work from home. He found that his clientele was increasing, therefore he pairs up with a friend, whom had a photography studio with enough space for them both. Karlin started to gain aspirations of owning a shop for himself one day, and luckily there was a vacant storefront next to his friend's studio. Karlin went to ask how much was the rent, and immediately he got to work. Working long, hard hours, Karlin achieved his goal, and now has a full operation powered by his engine. All in all, Karlin is prod of where he has doesn't know what's going to happen next in his lifetime, but he has prepared himself for the journey to come.
